Jayla Lavender is a joyful, expressive and intuitive eight year old actress. She got her start at the age of one by appearing in a MSNBC commercial directed by Spike Lee that her mom submitted her to. Then she began to book commercials like: Sprout, Zarbee’s Children’s Vitamins and Chiquita Banana to name a few.  Jayla Lavender made her theater debut in the role of Emmy in Theatre For A New Audience’s production of A Doll’s House, and can next be seen in the World Premiere of “Dance Divas Nutcracker”.

Jayla Lavender enjoys playing piano, swimming, ballet, all types of art activities and playdates with her girlfriends. She is a lover of all things pink, glitter and dress up. She loves to travel, collect lip gloss and loves to encourage little girls to embrace their curly hair. She’s a girl’s girl and currently attends an all girl’s independent school. She comes from a tribe of strong Southern women and her father is of Maliseet Native American descent.

When Jayla Lavender is not busy with school, you can find her around town enjoying one of New York City’s many parks. She wants to thank her parents, family, teachers and friends for all of their encouragement and support.
