Jayla Lavender Nicholas is an actress, voice actress and scholar who attends one of the top 10 all-girls independent schools in the country. She’s a classical pianist, ballerina and lover of science, engineering and art. She’s an avid reader who enjoys books such as: Chris Colfer’s The Land of Stories series, Brandy Colbert’s The Only Black Girls In Town, Jerry Craft’s New Kid and Carrie Firsetone’s Dress Coded. 

Jayla Lavender got her start in theater at the age of 6 when she direct booked the role of Emmy in Theatre For A New Audience’s production of A Doll’s House, where she worked alongside Broadway actors. She booked her first commercial at the age of one, which was a MSNBC commercial directed by Spike Lee.

Jayla Lavender is a girl’s girl, and she firmly believes that being your true self is one of the greatest gifts that can be shared with others. Jayla Lavender currently does audiobook narration for the “Pinkalicious” ‘I Can Read’ books, and has several forthcoming projects in the works. Jayla Lavender enjoys acting, voiceover, and stage performance, because it gives her the opportunity to lift words off the page and create unique characters using her imagination and voice.
